Jose Mourinho suffered one of the biggest defeats in his managerial career as AS Roma was thrashed by FK Bodø/Glimt in the Europa Conference League.

Middlesbrough 3-0 Chelsea (2006)

In 2006, Chelsea under Mourinho suffered a shocking defeat to Middlesbrough on their way to the second Premier League title. The Portuguese suffered only two defeats in 62 fixtures in the domestic leagues.

Borussia Dortmund 4-1 Real Madrid (2013)

Robert Lewandowski was in fine form as he netted a hattrick that ended Mourinho’s time in charge at Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The 4-1 humiliation increased pressure on Mourinho as he sought to win a European Cup. Dortmund advanced to the next stage as Mourinho parted ways with the Los Blancos.

Chelsea 4-0 Manchester United (2016)

At Manchester United Mourinho suffered one of his biggest defeats, the humiliation coming from his former employers Chelsea.

Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid (2011)

This was first Mourinho’s El Clasico, a day he wishes he could erase in his memory as the Catalans thrashed Madrid 5-0.

FK Bodø/Glimt 6-1 Roma (2021)

The 6-1 humiliation was the first time a Mourinho side has ever concocted six goals in a fixture.

FK Bodø/Glimt won the Norwegian Eliteserien for the first time in their history last season but were still expected to pose little problem for a Roma side amongst the biggest clubs in the newly-formed Conference League.
